Chukar Baseball opens Hanigan  Kickoff Classic with two wins.

Ontario, OR - The 2010 Chukar baseball team got off to a good start with two wins on the first day of the 2010 Hanigan Kickoff Classic.

In game one, Andy Shoemaker went seven solid innings only giving up one unearned run, as the Chukars beat the Prairie Dawgs from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, 7 - 1. Matt Comer got things started for the Chukars in the bottom of the second inning with a leadoff triple. Sam Lawless then delivered his first RBI of the year with a line shot to center field, making it 1-0, Chukars. Lawless latered homered in a five run seventh inning for the Chukars.

In game two, sophomore Brock Jessup pitched five innings, earning his first victory of the year, as the Chukars held on to beat the Chokers from Grays Harbor CC, 4-3. Cole Braase picked up the save as he closed the game in the 9th inning. Trent Seamons had three hits in the game for the Chukars.

On Saturday, the Chukars will play Grays Harbor at 1 pm and Miles City at 4 pm.

Sunday, the Chukars will play Miles City at 1 pm.
